EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

 EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

The Employment Services section of County Wexford Partnership has the overall aim of developing strategic programmes addressing the issue of relatively high unemployment in the area by providing local programmes to help people re-enter the labour force.  The entire programme can be reviewed by consulting the Strategic Plan 2001-2006

Objective 1: To enhance CWP employment services, including the Local Employment Service, for people who are long-term unemployed, particularly those who are unemployed for more than 3 years

Objective 2: To expand the TÚS smallholder Initiative for low income households

Objective 3: To work in partnership with FÁS and other local providers to maximise the Social Economy Programmes (specifically the FÁS Social Economy Programme and the Jobs Initiative) contribution towards local development and the needs of the CWP target group

Objective 4: To develop 3 social economy flagship projects, 1 in a rural community, 1 in an urban community and 1 social economy project with travellers, which can be used as

demonstration projects for other communities

TARGET GROUPS

Long-term unemployed, community groups, smallholders, women returnees, lone parents, travellers, those distanced from the labour market and specific residential groups.
