Following from the Traveller Primary Healthcare Programme, County Wexford Partnership set up the Bunclody Pre-Development Project for Traveller Women in January 2005. The project is also supported and funded by County Wexford VEC, the Health Service Executive – South Eastern Region, and the Department of Social and Family Affairs.
This project has the following aims:

Assess developmental and educational needs of participants |

Prepare and build individuals capacity to participate in return to education programmes |

Build individuals capacity and assess participants for possible inclusion in future Traveller Primary Healthcare Programmes |

Increase personal development and job seeking skills |

Develop an awareness of individual and community health needs and issues |
The Project currently caters for 22 women from the Bunclody area. The women are participating in a variety of training sessions based upon each individual’s ability. The training sessions include Personal and Interpersonal Skills, Communications and Basic Computers. |
