County Wexford Partnership recognises the need for training and education, particularly among those most affected by social exclusion. It is widely accepted that people with the least education and training will be the most vulnerable to unemployment.
Training and education have played a key role in Ireland’s economic regeneration and have highlighted the concept of life long learning. Life long learning involves recognising that the pace of change in our knowledge-based society is so fast that only a response that embeds continuous and ongoing up-skilling and re-skilling into our work culture will give us the human capital needed to ensure our employability in the future.
The aim of the education and training programme is to support access to quality education and training programmes for all individuals and groups in the County Wexford Partnership area.
The role of the Education Coordinator is to support County Wexford Partnership staff in their work with existing clients through provision of education and training advice and guidance. The Education Coordinator also works with individuals and communities to identify needs, ways of re-engaging with education and training and work with them to remove barriers to this process.
